MEOCLINIC – only those who feel well get well.

Paediatric surgery

Dear Parents and Patients,

At MEOCLINIC, we treat children and young people between the ages of two and sixteen.

Our aim is to provide the treatment method which is best suited to the patient’s physical and emotional needs.

If surgery is required, we try to make this as easy as possible on both the child and the parents. The MEOCLINIC doctors and nurses understand the importance of a sensitive and personalised approach when dealing with children and their parents.

Whether your child undergoes outpatient surgery or is admitted for inpatient treatment, maintaining contact with your child is not only desirable, but also extremely important. This is because children who remain in constant contact with their parents are less anxious, which in turn helps to ensure a speedy, complication-free recovery.

The only time that you will be separated from your child is during the actual operation. It is hugely beneficial to the child when the parents are present during the pre-surgical preparations and post-operative care. The operation is carried out by our experienced paediatric surgeon and a specially trained anaesthetist.

Wherever possible, all operations are performed as inpatient procedures, as this gives you the reassurance of knowing that your child is in the safest possible hands. We guarantee round-the-clock care from our experienced ward doctors and nursing staff, and we also have anaesthetists, surgical and emergency medical staff on-call at all times.
